1990mjblue Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 Hey I have a 90 mj 2.5l 5speed and I'm get a newer 2.5 from a 94 wragler thats multi port instead of throttle body. I'm wondering if it would bolt right on and what conversions I would have to make any info will help.
Eagle Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 It will bolt right in, but the entire ignition and injection system is different, so you're looking at replacing the whole wiring harness. I hope you got the wiring harness from the Wrangler. You DID get the wiring harness from the Wrangler, didn't you?
benjy_26 Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 I'd just re-use the TBI set up. My brother has a MPFI 2.5 in his XJ and I don't see a huge power differnece between his truck and my TBI MJ.
cruiser54 Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 Not sure, but I would suspect the intake manifold, distributor and flywheel could be swapped from the old to the new and you'd be on your way. Am I missing something?
