Newton
I saw these bulb sockets hanging under the driver side dash they're the same sockets as the for the bulbs in the clock, climate control etc.. i put some leds in them and they work can someone tell me what they're for are they just footwell courtesy lights they go on and off along with all the lights on the dash via the headlight switch... Also this orange/black connector next to the cig lighter any ideas where it goes i think i plugged in everything on the dash correctly but can't find a place where it goes and it has power coming to it... the cigarette lighter isnt working either has a good ground but no power in that purple wire any ideas? HOrnbrod
First pic - those are illumination lights for the dash switches. They plug into the dash switch plastic bracket(s) if you have them. Yours could be blanked out. Second pic - there's a collar that snaps around the lighter housing that you're missing. The bulb holder snaps into it. Lighter not working is usually a blown fuse. Strokermjcomanche
The first picture are the lights that are supposed to light up the switch symbols on the dash ( fog , power comfort , cargo light ) on a xj ( defrost , rear wiper and extended idle switch . The bulbs should be a number 74 .
