Defroster vent only blowing/ AC converting/recharging question

I have a feeling this should be a easy fix but I really have no idea. lol

 The defroster, windsheild vent, is only blowing. The upper and lower vents have no air flow. All different fan speeds work..

 

Anyone have an idea?

 

Also I have, new in packaging, AC lines. I would like to install these and have AC. WOuld I just install the new lines after vecuuming out whats left in the old system, and just recharge it again? or do I have to convert something?

The HVAC defaults to defrost mode when there is no vacuum to the controls. You have a leak somewhere.

Follow the hard plastic vacuum line that runs forward along the right side inner fender and terminates at the vacuum canister behind the front bumper. The plastic line usually breaks where it passes through the forward bulkhead in front of the battery.

The plastic ball thing is inside the engine bay. It came like that when I bought it. Ill try to find the vacuum lines today and see whats going on.
