New MJ Owner

I figured I would introduce myself and poke around here, I think I'm going to be spending a lot of time here in the next little while....

So I picked up a 1988 MJ, the previous owner had blown a hole the size of my fist in the side of the 2.5L and didn't want to fix it.  It changed hands a few times, a lot of guys wanted it but didn't want to spend the time fixing it.  So I picked it up three weeks ago, and it's sat in my driveway waiting for a weekend for me to spend time on it.  I picked up a 1998 XJ the other day to use as a donor.  So coming from a 2.5L with the AX-5, I'll be swapping in the 4.0L with an AW4 (I need an auto, my shoulder is pretty buggered up and shifting gets pretty painful after a few days).  I'm also going to swap the interior in - so it'll be a bit nicer when I'm done.  The dash looks to be a lot of work, but I think it will be worth it in the end.  I'm just really looking forward to having OBDII, but I'm a techie so you can likely understand that...

Anyway, I'll post up some pics and such and create a build thread for all to see.  She's a sexy machine, and I can't wait to get it on the road!

The previous owner had fixed up some rust, but it still needs a little more fixing. The passenger door has a slight crease and so does the passenger fender, so I may just replace those before doing a full re-Paint. I'm actually thinking I might paint it camouflage (with flat clear coat) but we will see. I kinda like the yellow but camo has big appeal!

And as a side note, the MJ didn't come off the trailer without a fight.

I dropped the trailer ramp on my foot, broke my big toe at the distal joint, and chipped a chunk of the bone off the lateral interior aspect. Luckily it was sitting in the correct spot and the X-rays say no surgery, but I've been walking around with this damn thing for three weeks now:

Hopefully only two more weeks of "The Boot" and then X-rays to see if I can go back to wearing two shoes again! But it isn't going to stop me from swapping engines this weekend!
