wutangwisdom Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 So I went to start the manche up and all I get is rapid clicks when I turn the key I was thinking its the starter. I keep trying to turn it over and eventually it stops clicking and my lights have a yellow tint . also my positive terminal gets hot. Battery or starter?
87MJTIM Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Starter. Lights have dimmed because you drained the battery trying to start the engine.
1989 Eliminator Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 If it was your CPS sensor, the starter would still turn but the engine would not fire. Definatly seems like a starter motor but I would also check all your grounds. (side of engine block by oil dipstick, firewall, battery terminals...)
wutangwisdom Posted July 17, 2015 Author Posted July 17, 2015 Hmmmmmm that's what I was thinking but I went out this morning and turned on the lights and they are normal. I found a starter on Amazon for 50 bucks. But the bosch version is 139 bucks is there brands of starters I should avoid?
