Lift kit shipping.

I have been looking at several different options to replace the lift on what the previous owner has done to my truck. If my phone would allow me to upload pictures you would understand why I want to replace everything. I didn't notice this until I was under the truck replacing the fuel filter. On the passenger side of the truck a piece of wood was used as a spacer to drop transfer case. Seeing this and a few other things like the damper and the missing sway bar, makes me question what else has been "modified". As it is now I have no confidence in suspension so I decided to go with a Rubicon Express 5.5" lift kit. It has everything needed except the shocks and is supposed to be bolt on. I think I can get away with my current shocks for now since it's already lifted and they were recently replaced. It's a bit pricey but have seen a lot of positive reviews. I was about to order it when I noticed how much it was going to cost to ship to Guam. I was thinking $200 should cover the shipping cost. I was a bit mistaken with my estimate. The cheapest I can get it shipped here is almost $800. That just about doubles the cost of getting the new kit. There has to be a better/cheaper way to get it shipped here.

I told you I would be willing to help.

When you get serious..........before you order........get in touch with me.

Post your area code....or however your location is identified through USPS and will check on shipping costs.

Some can go flat rate but others, like TB......long box........will not.

Build your own kit. There is a pretty good parts list in the DIY section.

I still have the same issue with shipping no matter which way the kit is put together. We have 1 junk yard here and they are not a place I like to do business with. Their prices are close to buying new and each time I have dealt with them they act as if it's an inconvenience to help a customer.

BTW........you're going to have to trust someone.

Since joining the club I have bought stuff from several different members. Everyone I have talked with and bought from I consider friends. One thing I have to say is this is a great group of people. Hopefully one day soon I will be able to help out others as several have helped me with knowledge. I do trust the people in our club. I do appreciate your offer to help out. I will email you soon. At times it would be nice to be back in the states, would be awesome to actually get to meet the people that have been so helpful.

I'll share what I learned......keeping it out in the open......

Your zip code is a US addy........not international.

Flat rate box is same as continental US.....so......

Say you bought 2 rotors, TREs, bushings, pitman arm....etc...... all in one large flat rate box to you for $17.95

or

Adjustable uppers and lowers, disassembled to fit.......to you for $17.95

As for large boxes-

Post Master had a small file box that weighted exactly 35lbs, measured approx 16x16x16, to your addy, $86.

So, judging by that, a pair of coil springs may weigh half that.......let's assume approx $43 to you.

6x6x36, the size of a TB boxed, is considered over sized.

If you were to buy a TB and have it shipped it may cost you $60

If you were to buy a drag link and have it shipped in the same sized box it may cost you $60

BUT! if you were to put both in one box it may cost you....say.....$80 (weight)...that will save you $40 on the two.

If you buy and pack smartly........I think you can get shipping down to about $180 or so.

LMK.

I noticed that Amazon has just about every Rubicon Express on their website, most with free shipping or prime. If your zip code is considered in the US, maybe they would honor the free shipping? I've ordered a few lift kits for people from Amazon using my prime account so they could save big time on shipping.

Trust me on this one when it comes to Amazon. I thought the same thing with the shipping. The free shipping does not apply to US territories. I can not remember exactly what I ordered from them but I know it was for the truck and it wasn't anything large. I bought a few things because supposedly spending a certain amount qualified for "free". The very first thing I noticed was a ridiculous amount of time for it to be shipped out. I ended up waiting almost 2 months for it to arrive. 2nd thing was the shipping wasn't free at all. What is funny to me is while the post office considers Guam as a US address, companies that sell things consider us international. I have no idea how that works. I know it sucks trying to find places that doesn't consider us international.
