88whitemanche
What's up fellas So I'm close to halfway through my ax15 swap and I had gotten 2 used clutch master cylinder and clutch slave cylinder kits from the jy and followed "factory" procedures to bleed them.... But when I go to install everything in place the rod pops off when I press the peddle and falls into the bell housing Is it easier to just buy a whole new pre-bled set or Is there anyway to prevent this....? Jeep Driver
There is an extension to the rod that you need to move from your old to the new......IIRC.
88whitemanche
I tried that but the washer on the older one doesn't fit into the new one.... So I redrilled the hole to fit my pedal assembly it's a 1/2 size drill bit

Jeep Driver
When I mentioned the rod...I meant the rod of the Slave cylinder that goes into the bell housing I understand. It is too short, that's why it falls off.
88whitemanche
For an external Slave? I used one from both a 4cyl and 6 cyl....
Megadan
The rod is popping out before you get it installed all the way? Most pre-bled setups (and individual slave cyls) have a zip tie/plastic piece that holds the rod back to prevent the rod from shooting out so you can install it and prevent the rod from doing what yours is.Example: https://www.rockauto.com/info/42/CS360047-007__ra_p.jpg
88whitemanche
Well the 2 that I have are used from a jy till I can afford a new set up...the zip tie was already popped when installed... It would be installed correctly until I check for peddle pressure after a few pumps it would pop out of the cylinder and drop all of the clutch fluid
Megadan
In that case, then the rod not being long enough is correct.
