ChuckP
Hey all, I've been a Jeep guy for a while and have owned more XJ's and TJ's than I'd like to admit. I've never had an MJ but have always wanted one. I'll be looking to purchase the right one here this year hopefully. I'm looking to get a 1987-1992 MJ 4.0L, manual, 4x4 shortbox with preferably the 2 bucket seats and converting it to the 1997-01 XJ front end (interior maybe as well). That would be the ideal truck for sure. I may be open to an auto, bench seat, or a 2wd and converting to a 4x4 later. I wanted to know what your thoughts were on this truck. It's only a 2wd and finding a donor XJ wouldn't be too difficult. It looks really clean and nicely done, already has the front end conversion. Has anyone looked at this truck in person? It seems like it's been for sale for a while now. It's a state away from me but I really like the look. http://www.texascapitalauto.com/vehicles/1988-jeep-comanche#contact-form-result
88whitemanche
As clean as it is..,which is really clean Id still try and low ball for half the price and the mileage is super high..,, Which we know the 4.0 will last forever but you can always talk them out of it.... dunnc1991
Truck has been on here before. Converting to 4x4 and buckets is easy, so don't let that limit you. These are pretty plug and play, and easy to mix and match parts. I'd say if you find a clean truck jump on it. You can always swap in the parts you want, but finding a good foundation is definitely the way to go.
ChuckP
Would any year AX15 tranny work? If I were to find like a 1995 XJ for the parts Jeep to convert? Or is it specific to Renix/HO?
