jeepaholic
So I have a 88 model that has been running just fine. Parked it and when came back to it the thing will crank and run for a minute then die. Throttle response is there but will only run for a few seconds. Cranks right back up and does same thing. Checked the bleeder on the fuel rail and have plenty of pressure.. Any suggestions?
ParadiseMJ
Fuel Pump Ballast Resistor - Little white ceramic thingy on passenger side inner fender with two orange wires. If it's not connected, connect it...if it's connected, disconnect it and connect the two wires together. See if that works.

The ballast resistor on my '88 MJ and my '88 XJ is on the driver's side -- right next to the air box.
Crash
I agree, driver side there is a piece that 2 wire connect to. Right in front of the egr vac. solenoid. Check the connection, and to confirm, remove the connectors and jumper them together. If your heep runs, bypass this circuit with a solid connection. metrictonner
Make sure your MAP is plugged in, vacuum and electric.
