bhorocks
First post! Glad to be here! question, has anyone tried using v8 grand cherokee coils for lift? if so, how much did you get out of it? I have a 2wd manche that i am going to convert but want to keep the cost down... you know the story.. new baby, wife, all that stuff
LocoJeeper
From previous reading: XJ's normally net an inch or so lift... since the MJ is the same front suspension I would think it would be 'bout the same.
Mitch
I to have read that everything ZJ is +1 inch... meaning that a 3 inch lift spring for a ZJ is a 4 inch lift spring for an XJ/MJ.
Pete M
The engine in said GC might be important. V8s have a different higher spring rate than the I6 models. Either one should still give some lift to a 2wd MJ though, as 2wds are an inch shorter than 4wd MJs.
bhorocks
right on thx. yeah, i thought that they were taller but unsure. i know on a tj they will provide 4"s lift. thanks. not that springs are expensive anyways!
goldtooth
my v8 zj springs gave me no lift on my 4.0 4wd mj. might do something for the 2wd though nathan
Eagle
This is a question with no answer. Look at a parts book. The ZJ was available with averything from a 6-cylinder engine with standard (soft) suspension to a 5.9L V8 with optional off-road suspension. Unless you know which ZJ springs you're dealing with, the question cannot be answered.
