Incommando
3" front/2" back may or may not level the truck as the rear sits higher from the factory. Adding more to the rear may make it worse and return the factory rake. XJ shackles remove an inch while Chevy drop shackles add 2.
ParadiseMJ
I have Rocky Road Shackles on my MJ, they are beefy and greasable. They are 3" longer than stock shackles, so they lift the rear 1.5". Your 2" add a leaf will likely end up settling a bit, So you could end up with 3.5 at first, and when all is said and done. you'll be sitting right about where you want. I'd expect that .5" will be negligible, over the length of the truck. Personally I like the factory rake but everybody's different.
nitroxsteve
I raised the front of my truck 3" and only 1" in the back and the back still sits 1" higher than the front.
Incommando
I just went the "eliminate the rake" route do to my take on his leveling comment.
trapperbb
I just went the "eliminate the rake" route do to my take on his leveling comment. your right about eliminating the rake, when i swapped it to 4wd i noticed the coil sping where booth missing a peice at the bottom so i bought 2 good xj factory coils and put a 2" spacer in but it didnt raise it above factory really any idea why ? are xj springs weaker ? they did look thinner than my mj ones. i bought 3" xj lift springs so I'm hoping they are gonna be a noticible difference. they are deffinatly alot beefier than whats in it now lol

The axle does not sit centered under the leaf spring, so the net lift is less than half the extra length of the shackles. 2" Chevy drop shackles will lift a Comanche about 1.75". They also mess up your driveshaft u joint angles possibly causing vibration.

I'm only looking to gain 1' of lift roughly from the shackles since I'm putting in the add a leafs so would 1" shackles put it out that much that it will cause the angles to be messed up ? nitroxsteve
I would put the AAL in and see how it looks then you can do shackles if you need it. I doubt you will need them.
87Warrior
I would put the AAL in and see how it looks then you can do shackles if you need it. I doubt you will need them.I agree. Do the front coils then the AAL. See how the truck sits. If you want a boost in the rear, new shackles are easy to install after all is said and done. Motorcharge
2-2.5" XJ shackles should net you 1" on an MJ. Stock MJ shackles are an inch longer than stock XJ shackles.
