starting 2015 with interior work

so with it gettin cold i'm starting to work on the inside of my MJ and i thought i might start with the mini console, i had never had mine inside the jeep due to breaking the plastic clip on the first one when i shift into 5th gear; also it just looks weird with no carpet. I'm lookin at making my own but need some ideas for cup holders, rocker switch panels and of course, different styles, lets see what ya got or how ya provent the plastic clip from breaking upon shifting into 5th gear,

i replaced my mini console with a full console from an xj, what was nice about this is i picked up all the ducting and the plenum as well so when i have the floor heat on it also moves air to right behind the seats, the cab heats up pretty quickly.

 

if you don't replace the plenum directly below the ashtray you have to cut the console to make it fit. but it looks a heck of a lot better than that mini console... though it does sit off the floor because theres no carpet installed, ive been looking at getting carpet  but only putting it over the transmission tunnel.

yeah i have no carpet either, thought bout a full console but i can't do one unless i wanna replace my seat with buckets, i currently have a bench seat,

What is plenum?

There's a heater airbox deal down there that directs air at your feet. That's the plenum. The console has its own plenum and ducts to bring air backwards. The dictionary definition of plenum is "a place where a treated substance collects for distribution"; i.e. the heater blows air into that space and it goes from there to the vents.
