Strokermjcomanche
That is a vent hose for the transmission . it is supposed to be routed To the top of the bellhousing where it meets the engine .
dj5
where should i hook it up in the engine?
Strokermjcomanche
It should be attached to a bracket on the bellhousing bolt , but you can attach it with a cable tie at the highest reachable point away from the exhaust .
dj5
but it doesnt actually hook up to the engine then?it just sits with the hose open to the air?
gogmorgo
Nope. It's a breather, allowing expanding air out as the tranny heats up, and then back in again as it cools down. If you do a lot of water crossing, you may want to extend it as far as you can.
