Jaxso32
1988 Jeep Comanche Pioneer that is a wiring nightmare, previous owners did really $#!&ty wiring and slowly trying to sort it out. Currently my I/P and running lights do not light up when using the switch, but the I/P lights when i hit the brake switch but not the running lights, first thought is a short, but would appreciate any other suggestions thanks. cruiser54
What you describe is one circuit hunting for a ground and using another circuit to get it. First place to look is at the back of the stereo. Unplug it completely and see if your problem persists.
Jaxso32
The truck does not have a stereo right now so it is not that.

Jaxso32
I didn't see a connector for a trailer but I can check again. Also I forgot something, when signaling left my front right turn and side marker bulbs flash
cruiser54
Click on the link in my signature and go to post 3. Look at the photo. Remove turn signal bulbs one at a time and see what happens. I'll bet your bulb sockets are corroded.
onlyinajeep726
You may be better off just swapping in another wiring harness, preferably from a '89 or '90 model.
