88ComancheMitch Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 Truck ran great for about an.hour. longest trip ive taken. Rpms started dipping like the engine was cutting on and off. Pulled off to side of road and thought I fixed it with a loose map sensor vacuum line. I was wrong.... By passes fuel pump resistor with a temp setup. Now it will idle great. Rev great in park. When I put it.in drivr and try to drive forward it stalls hard. Ideas?
88ComancheMitch Posted August 30, 2014 Author Posted August 30, 2014 Seems to run fine until around 45. Then won't stop missing and stalling until I come to a stop and start driving again
88ComancheMitch Posted August 30, 2014 Author Posted August 30, 2014 88 4.0 with 98 motor and 88 wiring/sensors
Jeep Driver Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 I learned my lessons the hard way. I don't think most of you guys pay enough attention to your sensors. Could be as simple as an O2 gone bad. You symptoms sound similar to mine last week...........O2.
88ComancheMitch Posted August 30, 2014 Author Posted August 30, 2014 Just unplugged o2. Didn't fix it. Waiting for the next parts store to get new vacuum lines
MJCARENA Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 Try unplugging and replugging in your crank position sensor.
88ComancheMitch Posted August 30, 2014 Author Posted August 30, 2014 ended up being the map sensor. On my way home now..
88ComancheMitch Posted September 1, 2014 Author Posted September 1, 2014 Well. I limped home. I have to get the proper vacuum line size. It's still doing it, but there its a tiny vacuum leak at the throttle body for the map sensor. It's all I had sitting around to get me home
