Started Fine One Minute, Then Turn The Key And Nothing

I've got an 86 xls, 2.5 4cyl, 5 speed 4x4. I was doing some clutch work and started the truck to test it. I shut it off and a little while later I went to start it, turn the key and I have gauges and lights but the motor doesn't turn over, no click nothing. I know the battery is charged so idk what's wrong. Any help is greatly appreciated

Sounds like a neutral safety switch iissue. Check the switch on the clutch.

The switch isn't even touching the pedal. I used to be able to start it in gear. Never had to step on the clutch before. Now it start no no matter what I do

Clean your battery terminals and try to clean by the starter relay and it'll crank back up....

Or if you haven't done it yet do the ground refreshing as per cruisers write up

well don't i feel stupid. it helps to have the remote wire attached. must have knocked it off when i put the battery back in.
