Door Lock Cylnder Upgrade Interchange??

Anyone know if I can take the manual door lock cylinders out of my 89 and put in the newer style like on the 95-96 cherokee that use the double sided keys. Is it a direct swap or is a Mod needed? Thanks

I know the newer lock cylinders are different . There either bigger or smaller I can't remember . But if the holes are too small you can file the hole to fit the cylinders .

New locks are smaller and the connection on the back is different. It will fit in the hole but it will not cover the opening properly.
