ajohnson928 Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 I took the old girl out to get a yard stuff since it was a nice day. At a light on the way home I noticed that the oil gauge was pegged over 80. But when I took off again it started working fine again. This continued all the way home. It was getting dark so I did zero inspection or checking but I wanted to see what you all thought. I'll post an answer to the issue once I get it figured out for sure.
92tanMJ Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 That's how mine was its your oil pressure sender...its by the oil filter. I don't think mine is in this exact location but its close enough for you to get the idea of its location/ look
ajohnson928 Posted April 21, 2014 Author Posted April 21, 2014 Thanks. I just replaced the thing last year but I suppose it could be defective. I'll look into it one night this week.
Blue XJ Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 I think I went through 4 or 5 senders in a couple years for the same problem. I finally gave up and have a non working gauge now.
ajohnson928 Posted May 8, 2014 Author Posted May 8, 2014 Update: It never did it again. It must have been a gremlin.
cruiser54 Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Update: It never did it again. It must have been a gremlin. Unplug it. Spray out the connector with BrakeKleen, and put a little squeeze on the female connector. Plug it back in.
