It's for a D44. I think the yoke that's on it would be too tight. But I could see. I guess I can always grind it down.

That article has the stock spicer P/Ns. That's cool. Too bad the only spicer dealer in town is a little

All that matters is that the hole spacing be correct. The XJs and MJs all used the same drive shaft u-joints, so the same u-bolt that works with a D35 should work with a D44. I bought some awhile back with the thought of converting my XJ, but I've not done it because I haven't had any reason to drop the drive shaft. I'll have to look, but I think it should work as well on a rear D44 as on a D35.

Dunno if I got the correct ones, but I think the ones I got were listed for a Ford pickup. Most of the auto parts chains have these in the HELP! line, in blister packs, you just have to search for the correct one.

i like my straps. i also like being able to fit a ratchet onto the bolts...you can't do that with the u-bolt.

BUT i haven't had any real problems with them yet...i'm sure my opinion will change when/if i do

Ever trip they stretch on me. Bear in mind I'm being a little hard on things, hard enough to twist the splines on the driveshaft.

Thanks for the pics CW, I'll track down the needed parts as soon as I get off me lazy arse.

It turns out there's a yoke on my ford D44 that can be drilled out. Looks like I'll deal with it that way.

I don't have any clue why they used a different yoke on the ford D44 than the waggy D44 though???
