Wiper Parking Position

Hey everyone,Quick question. Is there some way to adjust how far down the wiper blades go when you turn them off? When I turn mine off they seem too stop to high on the window.I can pull them lower manually to what appears like the right place but they always stop too high. Is this as easy as removing them and moving them lower? Or will that limit travel at the top when on? I know it's lame but just checking to see if there is an easy fix.

pulling the assembly and replacing the linkage bushings will help somewhat ... but if you can manually get them to move that much the linkage itself is shot .... I did the bushings on my 88 and now it only has about 2" free play where as before it was halfway up the windshield. A new motor assembly made no difference whatsoever.

I'm guessing the wiper motor is loose. Remove the linkage/motor/pivots as an assembly and LocTite the bolts into the motor and check the bushings at the pivots.
