jamba
Yep. I use eb often, just to keep them cables working.. Now i broke the cable from release handle. I took it off (2 torx) and when looking it in my hand, thinking where would i get new one I found it's quite soft metal, so drilled a small hole to the end of it. Then i filed a groove and pressed a quitar string to it. (Quitar string has a small bushing on the other end) then i assembled handle back where it belongs and wired a piece of "wire stopper?" ,sorry i don't know the word. And just cut leftover with wirecutter. Hope you get the idea, it has been ok now about a week, so think i just leave it as it is. :)
locorenzo
Is there a square hole in the tranny tunnel for a hand brake from an XJ or do I need to cut a hole.

I believe that you need to cut a hole for it. @Gjeep might have handbrakes in his trucks, he might be able to confirm.
Gjeep
Yep, I installed the XJ eBrake. I cut-out that tunnel area of a scrap Jeep and traced the size/shape hole I needed to cut. You'll also need to drill 2 holes where the mounting bolts go through the floorboard. The XJ also has a reinforcement plate underside of trans tunnel spot welded to the floorpan for support. You'll want to grab that as it has the nuts the XJ hand brake bolts into. Or you can fab something up. I used ControlCables.com to make a proper length cable that extents from the hand brake to the MJ splitter. I also purchased a small mounting bracket for that cable as support. Here's a recent build with the XJ brake, go to page 3 about quarter of the way down...
