SBpunk
So I've been MJless for a while and got the itch. There is a 1990 for sale 2wd shortbox auto bucket seats with little rust for 2500$ around here. Seems steep to me but the guy won't budge. Would love to get suggestions on that first. My question is since it has an AW4 already will I need a new harness or just be able to pull the trans, transfercase, front axle, driveline and shifter from a donor vehicle? Incommando
From my experience helping someone convert an XJ all that you need to make it work is the hard parts. The "4wd" light on the dash may not work is all. You will also need to get your rear 2wd drive shaft shortened.
ggcnash
I just completed this same project you do not need new harness just 4x4 trans, transfercase with linkages and front diff commando is correct the 4wd light won't work but could with some extra wiring I didn't worry about it I can tell if I'm in 4wd
Tactical Bacon
For 2500, that joker better be mint with under 80k miles and fill its own gas.
