Sleek
Was trying to put the original wheel of my tj on 2wd mj but the front hub are too big so i was wondering if anyone ever had that problem and if a 1inch1/2 spacer would fix it?
fatboyadams
Are you talking about wheels like this?
Sleek
Yes the exact same wheel
Incommando
yes you need spacers. 1.25" works but you will probably want to do the rear, too, as the front is already wider
Sleek
Great thanks , yes i will put 1,50" spacer on the 4 wheel
benjy_26
Or... You COULD just go get yourself a 2WD ZJ front beam and forget the spacers. My local P-N-P lets thos bad boys go for a Benny rotor to rotor. You may even get lucky and find one with the beefier tie rods off of a V8 model. jpnjim
I've had these same wheels on my 2wd for years with no spacers or any issues. I just had to remove the center cap from the wheel. I hit the wheel bearing cap with silver paint every year or so when it starts looking cruddy, but that's it.

Trip to PnP..remove front beam axle off of junker yourself on the ground with hand tools...cuss when bolts resist you...pay $100...take it home...remove front beam axle off of original MJ...cuss when bolts resist you...replace with junker front beam...dispose of original beam...hope everything on the junker beam works right because you know that the original one does and the original has the stronger spindle/serviceable bearing versus the somewhat fragile unserviceable unit bearing vs. $85 for a pair of spacers from Morris 4x4 ( $170 to match them all) and some lug nut twisting or getting lucky and your dust caps fit through the center hole... :brows:
Rockfrog
you need to pop the center cap out ... the little center bit that says jeep on it ... the dust cap will poke through the hole. The hub mounting flange specs have not changed from 84-06 (and even the newer 07-14 jeeps use the same hubcenter diameter and spacing just with a different bolt pattern). where does the hub contact with the wheel? I have a different set of TJ wheels on my MJ ... off a 97 TJ, same deal ... popped the center caps out on the front and all was good. This is only an issue on the 2wd due to the dust cap
