Jeep_ers_89
Ok Ive had 2 Xjs, 2 ZJs ( I still have my 97 with 5"and 32s), a TJ ( for sale) and now picked up this beauty for free. I have not done much cept remove the front bumper trim the front fenders a bit put in edelbrock shocks I had sitting around from the ZJ and the front springs from the ZJ which leveled it out nicely. It is a 4 banger 4 spd. I have D44 front and 9" rear, both with detroits that I will eventually swap in. I was gonna put them in the ZJ but the wifey likes it the way it is. I have 5x2 3/16 steel for a front bumper. I enjoy the site and will keep updating.... I hope.

Twisty
The biggest question is..................hows the rust? A truck that has lived on Cape Cod in the winder must be quite rusty. But it looks to be quite clean. Nice find!
Jeep_ers_89
rear wheel wells and bottoms of the doors are the worst area. Other small spots where its just surface rust but nothing major. Nothing out of the norm as least from my experiences with XJs. The exhaust was replaced right befor I got it as was the clutch. I think I might drive it as is for now. I mean its just getting broken in at 90,000 mi. Though i do need something other than the AM radio if I am to do that. With a 3 month old I'm trying to do this as cheap as possible. Here are the axles I got from my buddys 79 f150 for free. Hopefully the new front and rear....

Kenosha Warrior
is that a 4x4/4spd? man those trannies are so elusive. a 4x4 AX-4. If you ever, and I mean EVER go to sell that transmission, I call a definite first call, will pay shipping from MA to Ontario, Canada. I Want that Tranny! Anywho.. nice manche. JeepcoMJ
why would you even BOTHER putting a 4 speed in...5 speed is more worthwhile even if you don't ever use 5th gear

Jeep_ers_89
No the 4 spd is staying its not bad. I was planing on running modified ford radius arms. I have 3/16 plate welded up to go over the sudo frame rails to attach to. I did this in my grand with good results. I want to extend the radius arms with tubing and a hiem at the frame end. As for now I am going to run it as is for a lil bit while I sell my TJ and fix the trans in my ZJ.
