rullemj Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Could someone tell me if the trac-loc limited-slip option was specific for Dana 44 models or was it avaliable on the 35 axle aswell? If so, is there a way to check if it's working?
Blue88Comanche Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 it was also available on the dana 35. to check if you have one without removing the diff cover, jack the rear of the truck so both tires are off the ground. you may need to put the truck in neutral... spin one tire clockwise, if the other tire spins counter clock wise it is an open diff, if they spin the same direction it a limited slip, (or locked, spooled) if it is the original LSD odds are it needs to be rebuilt.
rullemj Posted February 5, 2014 Author Posted February 5, 2014 I'll have a look tomorrow after work. It's got the 44 after all, just came back from playing around in the garage. What's this? my 88 doesn't have it, at least I haven't seen it B) And under the carpets... No rust on either side.

rullemj Posted February 5, 2014 Author Posted February 5, 2014 Yup, sure do. You learn something new everyday! Thanks for the help :clapping:

There was one 1987 export truck here (from Norway IIRC) that had an AMC-20.
