Fuel Topic.

Recommended Posts

Today me and my dad went and looked at cherokees at pick n pull to see what we need for my 89 Eliminator. Once we got him we took the battery from my brothers truck and put it in mine. Lights turned on )except turn signals don't work) and we can hear the fuel pump. At the front of the fuel rail it was leaking gasoline. Right now my dad want's me to find something for "fuel regulator assembly" I googled it and can't find anything. Can anyone find this for me?

The way Jeep allowed people to order vehicles at the time made that a bit more complicated. You could have pretty much whatever combination of options you wanted - that's why you see so many MJs with really strange configurations. I've seen a couple factory 5sp Eliminators so they're out there - it's probably just that they were specially ordered that way.

The 4.0 is standard on the Eliminators, as were full gauges, bucket seats, special Eliminator wheels, SWB, graphics, and probably a few other things. It was also 2wd only until '91, then you could get it in 4x4 if you wanted.

As said above though, I've seen several Eliminators with a 5spd so that was probably optional. And because you could order all kinds of weird combos, I've even seen a bench seat in an Eliminator. Prime example of this is the '86 "X" sitting in my drive. If I didn't know it was an X, it is optioned out like almost every XLS I've ever seen. But I've got the build sheet to prove it's an X.
