jimoshel
Anybody know how I can get the Photo Bucket icon onto my desk top? Before I had CC under Firefox and Photo Bucket on AOL. No problem coping and pasting. Then AOL changed and I no longer can do that. Now I have PB and CC on Firefox. I cannot copy PB and then paste a pic in CC. I need to separate these two Aps. Trouble is I don't know how and can't get anything to work. I've tried everything I can think of. No luck. Any help appreciated. Jim
Oyaji
Jim, have you tried opening CommancheClub on one tab in your web-browser, then opening another tab in the same browser for PhotoBucket?
jimoshel
Yep. No matter what I try, when I go from one to the other, the first one vanishes. I type out the text, then go to PB for a pic. The text is gone. Also I can't get a icon from PB. I left click on the header and all I get is a bookmark. The only way I've been able to do anything is to type out the text, then post. Then go to PB and copy a pic. Then go back to CC, find the post and hit 'edit'. Not the most efficient way in the world to do it.
Oyaji
I don't really follow all you are saying... but it sounds like you have a problem with your browser and/or computer. How many webpages to you usually have open in your browser at the same time? Maybe if you are running out of RAM you would get this problem, but geez, I have 21 webpages open in Opera (my main browser), and 5 more open in Firefox, plus video playing on Media Player too, and I have RAM to spare and no problems to report... Maybe it is a browser problem?Try restarting your browser and make a test post in the Test Forum while you have PhotoBucket open at the same time on another tab in your browser. If you still can't succeed, maybe reboot your computer and try again? Finally, is your browser up to date? If not, try patching it to the latest version your computer will run (make sure to set a restore point so you can roll back to your current version if you run into problems with the new version), then try again... carnuck
I have 3 different browsers going often. Haven't tried the other 3 yet. That way I can do work in one, FB in another (AFAIK, it can't spy on the others) and personal stuff in the third.
Keyav8r
I can't do any of that stuff. Maybe I need to upgrade. Hopefully I can trade in my Commodore 64 for a Commodore 128.

Eagle
Jim, what's your operating system? My desktop is still on Windows XP. In that, I open the Start menu, go to "All Programs," and find the program I want. Right click on the program, and you get a pop-up menu. One of the choices is "Create Shortcut." Click that and it puts a shortcut in the menu, right where you are. Simply click-and-drag that shortcut to the desktop and you're done. If you want to get fancy, you can then right click the shortcut on the desktop to rename it and/or to change the icon. There should be a similar procedure in Vista and Windows 7. Dunno anything about Windoze 8.
jimoshel
Sheezz. Can't believe that at one time I made my living by maintaining computers. But the technology changes so fast and if you spend your time playing games instead of keeping up, then you're going to get left behind. Actually I had the stuff there all the time. I just wasn't recognizing it. The tip from Oyaji on the open tabs is what got me back on the right track. I'm running Windows 7 on a year old HP. The first puter I ever owned was a Heathkit I bought back in the fifties sometime. The biggest puter I ever worked on was the SAGE system. It took up a four story building. The power supply was in the basement. First floor was administration and maintenance. Second floor was main processor. Third and fourth floors were storage, memory banks. Technology marches on and if you don't keep up you get left behind. :hmm: :???: Ah well. Back to Klondike. Trying to beat my high score of 8200.
