sinkrun
So what would you try first, I have no luck with electrical so I seek the experts advice. Lights only come when you use the high beam lever and hold it back with the switch parking lights do work. Switch or relay?

Eagle
We need someone with a '96 XJ FSM. The '88 vintage XJs and MJs didn't use a fuse for the headlights -- the headlight switch has a circuit breaker built into it. I have the FSM for the 2000 XJ, and that DOES use a fuse (actually two fuses) for the headlights. The question is: when did they make the change? jimoshel
Don't have a 96 FSM. Do have a 93&'94. Shows a 25 amp CB located on the head light Sw. Hope that helps. Reread the post. No it doesn't. The Chilton manual shows a 15 Amp fuse in slot 7 on the fuse panel. Chilton also shows the break was between 1995 and 1996.
