I currently have 3 regular full gauge clusters for 91+ XJ/MJ I have a cluster with the big fuel gauge, 3 small gauges and a 115 mph calibrated spedometer for the 91+ Also have a big fuel gauge, 3 small gauge, regular speedo with AMC logo in the 4th small gauge for the 90< And finally, in my truck I have the big fuel gauge with column shift automatic base cluster. Looking to build a bastard cluster around the 115 calibrated speedometer. Question, did the factory produce a tach face without the red paint I see on my 3 late full guage clusters? I suspect I need to look at Ebay.UK to find what I want. Yes, I have purchased some files from GoJeep for custom gauges, but that was before I found the "police" calibrated 115 mph cluster, Know I can mix and match small gauge face plates to get the look I want, but what will be compatible with the 115 mph speedometer? Think I need the printed circuit on the back of the cluster, IF it ever existed. Realize I may be over thinking this whole thing. But I can be very anal at times. This is one of those times. Oh, BTW, I have read and bookmarked most of the cluster swap discussions here. Just for what it may be worth. Doesn't mean I understood them all.
Automan2164 Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 I don't think the full cluster blue faced gauges were available in the HO years. You would have to use a full cluster housing with the correct foil back. Then maybe see about swapping in all blue faced gauges... Only problem I could forsee is the difference in required voltages for the fuel gauge and possibly one or two others. That, and pin location for the new/old gauges. Rob

Rob Was there a Renix era blue face full gauge cluster? Think gauge faces can be used on HO clusters. That is why I ask about a blue face full cluster. Thanks,

Crash Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Yes, Some renix had blue gauge cluster. I have one from my MJ. IS the speedo you have the one that the 115 is where the 85 would be? Or 115 at the bottom?
