onlyinajeep726
I'm sure this has been asked a million times, but where and what kind of shackles can I get to provide 1.5" of lift in the rear of my 4WD MJ? It's an '86 if that matters. I've got some 1.5" coils spacers, so I want to match the rear. Chevy lowering shackles maybe?
Pete M
yes. late 90s/early 2000s fullsize chevy shackles that advertise a 2" drop.
87Warrior
This is the Chevy drop shackle from AutoZone vs. the stock MJ shackle. They worked well with 2" pucks up front. Truck has more forward rake than I'd like, but I suspect that might be caused by the 28 year old coil springs...
onlyinajeep726
Sweet, that's what I was looking for. 87Warrior, what sized tires are those? That's the look I'm going for. Thanks guys!
87Warrior
The tires are a 235/75r15. About equivalent to a 30x9.5x15.
onlyinajeep726
Ok, awesome! That's the tire size I'm going for and on turbine rims, so that's perfect. Thanks man!
TheRangerSteve
Any chance you know the part number for those shackles? sounds like a good option instead of hunting the yard for a pair.

TheRangerSteve
Thanks, with my 2WD that's still just a couple in lift, or is it more since I'm not running 4WD?
onlyinajeep726
Not sure to be honest... I think the 4WD models sit higher from factory to account for the weight and sag over the course of 20+ years. Probably doesn't make a difference now lol. It'll sit 2" higher than whatever you're at now.
