Trade straight across lemme know what i should do??? Honest opinions

Honestly which one is more reliable and which one is in the best shape. I know i would love to own 10 MJs but you have 2 right?? I would keep the 5.2 just for the power and fun plus it has a nice drivetrain that could make a nice Trail MJ down the road :brows:

Right now i only have 1 but hopefully at the end of the week ill have 2 then to decide on this one...

hopefully the second will be a $250 dollar MJ that has a D44 rear and a bad trans...i hope he still got it

uh, well, the mj gets worse gas mileage than the 5.2 i guarantee it. and it doesn't have the towing power of the 5.2

BUT that 2.8 is easily remedied with a 3.4 swap. I would take the comanche because I like it bette rthan the dodge. and the comanche looks real straight too. how much is the 5.2 worth? that MJ isn't worth 2 grand, so I think you're probably not getting the greatest deal if it's straight up trade....perhaps make some money AND trade for the comanche at the same time?

it's worth it but I would NOT keep the stock 2.8 in that truck. those are junk. I drove one for a long time and it is now a 3.8 camaro optioned truck, my gas mileage increased from 7 mpg (with only 31" tires...those are bigger) to 19-22 mpg.

yea i know those 2.8 are junk...my buddy has one in his 86XJ and its a pile of crap...but i might have a 4.0 H.O. out of the 92XJ that id swap in..i don't know...I'm sitting on the fence about it

you need the entire cherokee to do that swap...tranny, 4wd linkages, engine, wiring, header and radiator support, hood. I like simple swaps that keep things clean cut and less work.

fortunantly we still have the entire jeep sitting behind the garage except its a 2wd but i have a 4wd tranny...everything is still intact b/c we were going to do that in his 86XJ but decided not to

For a 2.5 or 4.0, I'd say Do it. For a 2.8, eh, maybe. For me it wouldn't be worth it to trade a perfect Dodge for a Jeep that needs a heart transplant, but it is a Comanche, and a nice lookin one at that.
