jimoshel
Just got thru swapping out the header panel on the DD. 87 MJ. Twisted the heads off most of the screws going into it holding the lights. Didn't know fiber glass would rust but them suckers was froze in there. Tried penetrating oil and and beating on a phillips screw driver while trying to turn it. Nothing worked. Covered the threads of the new screws with anti sieze. See if that will help remove them in the future. :fs1:
Eagle
Anti-seize will do it. Fiberglass doesn't rust, but it sure holds enough moisture to help the screws rust.
azdiesel
Is this the panel on the fire wall in the engine compartment? if so, where might I find a new one? i have the engine out of my 86 Diesel and would like to replae it while the engine is out. Also, a hood pane would be nice.

hassyfoto
Fiberglass is still porous, So, that allows moisture through and thus rust the hardware.
jimoshel
Image Not Found Your grille is crooked Jim. Not the chrome one. That's an old pic from something or other. It's the only one I could find of a header. Any way that's the wrong grill. The grill was horizontal. Off a Limited I think. Like this.
