'87 fuel-miser Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 hey guys ! been slowing redoing an '87 4x4 long bed (6cyl/auto) anywho , bed is off , so , of course the tank is out ... cleaned and painted frame , replaced broken leak springs , new shocks brake lines ect ... hooked tank back up to move truck ( repainting cab while bed is off ) now it doesn't seam to be pumping / getting power ! will start w/starting fluid but not getting gas ... everything was working fine before i removed the bed WHAT HAVE I DONE ??? i'm i missing something ? or has the pump s*** the bed while the tank's been out ??? any thoughts ??? thanks ! :hmm: :???: . :MJ 1: .
SW86 Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 this got me when i took my bed off. there is a ground wire for the tail lights thats also for the fuel pump. its with the tail light strand of wires.
64 Cheyenne Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Mounts behind the L tail light, if no go, jump the resistor on the left fender in front of the air box. Or check that there is juice to the resistor first...

SUCCESS !!! fired right up ! ( no burger's were lost in the process ) thanks again guys for the help !!! :cheers: :banana: . :MJ 1: .
