Another Lift Topic

Recommended Posts

I have a 2WD, 1989 MJ it's basically stock at the moment and i'm looking into possibly putting a lift kit and stock Jeep Rubicon Rims and tires. (17" rims and the BFG Mud Terains 255/75R17) Basically just for show for now until I can come up with the money to swap her to 4x4. I'm not looking for anything major just a 3" to 4.5" decent riding lift. I was looking at the Rough Country, Rusty's Offroad Etc... But I was curious if anyone have had any good/bad feedback with those lifts or suggestions on what I should do.

                 Thanks,

                         Jake.

I like the 2013 17" Rubi rims too but didn't think they fit a 4.5"x5 MJ pattern? Aren't they 5"x5?

Are you going with a hub adapter?

My guess would be you'd have to trim to fit a 255R75-17 tire even on the street. Interested in what you decide to do.

You will need wheels spacers to convert the MJ bolt pattern (5 on 4.5") to the JK bolt pattern (5 on 5")

2" coil spring spacers up front and Chevy drop shackles in there rear will get you the clearance you need for street driving.

Thanks for the quick responses, I think I'm just going to go with a different rim so I don't have to get the spacers to convert the bolt pattern. And 87Warrior thanks for the great idea I think I will do the drop shackles in the back and just get bigger coils in the front. Now if I go with the other rims I'm looking at they are 16x8 with a 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern and going to wrap them with 255x75R15 BFG all terrains will I have any rubbing issues?
