87Chief
Hey guys I was driving the other day in my truck and I turned the wipers on. They only went up about a 1/4 way up the windshield and stopped. I was like oh crap. Let me ten them off so they go down.. they didn't go down. I could only get them down if I had the truck off and I pushed them down.. it does this eveytime I hit the wipers.. Bad switch? Thanks
cruiser54
See if they are binding and/or loose. What happens if you try to move them maually?
Pete M
do you have intermittent wipers?

Pete M
try yanking out the intermittent box. it's a small plastic box under the dash on the drivers side with a plug going in and a plug going out. remove the plugs and plug them into each other (which is how it is in non-intermittent trucks). that should tell you if the box is bad. 87Chief
Is that box connected to the steering column? I couldn't find it when I went under there.. Maybe looking in the wrong place.. I took the cowl off and turn the wipers on. It seems like the motor is jammed or something.. It won't go passed 1/4 way at all. I can't move it manually unless the truck is off, but only going down.. 87Chief
I have a day off tomorrow and can hopefully find that box..
87Chief
Still worked with I took the box out and plugged the two together.. Still the same thing.. I took the motor out today and found that one of the 3 bolts that holds the linkage on came off and was stuck when it moved around.. THanks for the help.
