SBpunk
Just a question. There are a bunch of vacuum hoses going into the air box. Two tiny ones, one that goes all the way back behind the washer fluid and into the firewall plus a couple more I'm sure I'm not thinking of. What did you guys do with all these when you put in aftermarket intake to free up space? I ordered a THOR cowl intake and don't want to screw up my engine. onlyinajeep726
One of the big hoses go to the front CCV/PCV on the valve cover, and the other one (that wraps around the washer bottle and along the firewall) goes to the vacuum canister. The other two smaller lines operate a vacuum motor used to help it warm up quicker by pulling in hot air off of the exhaust manifold. Those two aren't near as important so I just capped them off and tucked it somewhere. The one big line going to the vac can needs to be installed and the other going to the CCV/PCV can be replaced by a small mini cone filter or hooked up to the main intake tube, like below. SBpunk
Sweet thats what I needed to know! What did you do with the vacuum canister one? I'm guessing just cap it off also since I don't have emissions testing here
SBpunk
Nvm just saw it in the pic. Damn guess I'll get a T connector since this thor one only has 1 hose intake for the front valve cover hose.
onlyinajeep726
You could do that or you could use a mini cone filter for the valve cover hose and plumb the vac canister hose to the Thor's inlet.
MJRemi
I don't know if this matters to you or not but the line along the firewall is from the fuel evap. canister, not the vacuum canister.

So use a cone filter for both the front and back valve cover hoses? If I can get away with that great! I'm not even entirely sure what the evap canister does besides keep the smell of gas down a bit.
