UNL1MTD
My Comanche is missing the word comanche on its Passenger Fender. I took it off the parts truck using some fishing line, but now I'm wondering how to attach it to the '89 project truck. I removed with some goo gone and a razor blade all the black stuff off the back. My neighbor mention 3m double sided tape, but that just doesn't seem like it would hold up for a rain storm, let alone some wheeling. Can you buy that black stuff and cut it out or is this by chance a dealer item?
kazzx
3m makes double sided molding tape specifically for that perpose. Should be available at any parts store.
Duner
3m makes the double sided foam backing tape that your neighbor is suggesting. You should be able to get this at the local auto store, check where the paint and pinstriping products are located. If you have an automotive paint store you can get this tape in wider rolls unfortunately you only need a little of the stuff and they are used to selling body shops large rolls. Anyway wipe your emblem down and paint down with alcohol before applying, if the tape is fresh this stuff usaully sticks for a few years.
GirsMJ86
for all my badges i use the 3M 1/2" wide automotive tape that is made for badges and stuff. works great. just make sure you have a nice clean smooth surface to stick it on and it won't come off. i have even been over 90mph with my 91 and all my badges are still there. autozone and places like that also sells a "glue" for molding and trim that will work, i use it on the side trim and it holds up well. UNL1MTD
Very cool, I'll have to keep it on the running list for what to buy at Napa. Thanks for the quick responses.

beaterjeep
I don't know if I really should be doing it, but for almost anything, I use the clear epoxy, holds real well on everything Ive tried it on.
Tracker
The 3M double sided tape has been holding my full size Dodge emblems for about 5 years now. The tape itself is white and about 1/2 inch wide and the removable backing is red on the stuff I got at Pep Boys. I've also used that glue called "Goop" which worked pretty well. It was maybe a little too strong which is why I tried the tape this time.
