chappy88 Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 hey guys my 88 2wd i'm converting to 4wd using 91 cherokee donor, concerning the vacuum for accuator and power on the 91 what are my options for conversion to the 88. Were these normal in 88?

Geonovast Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 Are you pulling everything from the 91? If so, you can move the entire vacuum system to your 88, but it's not really worth it. Lock your CAD (see my sig), and plug the vacuum lines on the T-case. As stated, your 4wd light won't work, but.. meh.
Eagle Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 Wait -- What vacuum? What actuator? If the donor is a 91, it shouldn't have a vacuum disconnect on the front axle.
Geonovast Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 Some 91s still had a CAD. My dad's 91 XJ that I stripped out had a CAD system. I imagine they were just burning up inventory.
chappy88 Posted April 1, 2013 Author Posted April 1, 2013 So by by -passing the system it will turn continuous unless I transfer the whole vaccum system, lot of work for a little gas mileage?
