GrumpysMJ
Back on March 5th I joined Comanche Club with my newly purchased 88 Comanche, with the plan of keeping it completly stock cause of the shape it was in. Well, the better half, who really didn't mind me getting another project, took a first ride in the Comanche a few days ago. She's used to her 2010 Outback or my Mustang or our Dodge van. Needless to say she wasen't to impressed with how bare the Comanche was. First thing she told me to get was carpeting instead of a new floor mat. Than she said the bench seat has to go, she wants bucket seats. So now I'm searching for Comanche buckets or buckets out of a Cherokee 2 door, as I understand their the only ones that will bolt right in. Carpet is going to be ordered next week. As these were options back in 88, I should be able to still keep it stock. Installed a re-man steering box and new track bar, and smaller 215/70/15 tires, all of which took care of my steering problems. Took out the old floor mat and did find some rust, but knock wood it only surface rust. Scraped and wire brushed it, with POR 15 going in next week, covered by some roll on truck bed liner. Decided to name it Grumpys Toy Truck. Wife's been calling me Grumpy for 35 years, tag on Mustang reads Grrumpy, and tag on van reads Grumpaw (grand kids call me that). I'll see if I can get some pic's up asap. GrumpysMJ :USAflag:

relyt120
2-door cherokee seats will not bolt right in, you will have to adapt your bench seat floor brackets to accept them. The 2 door seats are preferred because unlike 4-door seats they fold forward as the MJ buckets do, allowing access to the storage space behind the seats. They only seats that will bolt in are seats out of an MJ.
GrumpysMJ
Yeah, I picked up that info here in some old posts, about the 2 door seats and using my bench brackets. Guess I should have clarified. Read through a lot of old posts and info, and picked up those info gem's. Have to take some new pic's for photo bucket entry. Played all day yesterday with the truck in just a shirt. Today it's snowing. Gotta love spring!!! GrumpysMJ
comenschen
Just got a bad mental image of a grumpy old man sitting outside in 'just a shirt'. Ha!, just ribbin' ya, now where's the pics!? GrumpysMJ
You gotta know I ment it was warm enough that I didn't need a jacket. Gave the truck a tune up, and replaced the idler pulley. Started to replace the vacume lines. It was 60 yesterday with sun, today it's 32 with snow. No pic's today, Comanche's got 4 inches of snow on it. To you guy's up north that's not alot. But for Va., this time of year, it's to much!!! Going to start searching salvage yards for seats this week. You all with the yards where you can pick your parts are lucky. Around here you can't pull your own, most of the time you can't even go into the yards. Have to tell them what you want/need and if it's there they'll pull it. No hunting & searching allowed. GrumpysMJ
Probably insurance reasons. In eliminates someone getting a boo-boo on their widdle pinkey and than suing the place for some un-godly amount of money GrumpysMJ
92tanMJ
We have some yards like that and those suck :/ Insurance reasons or theft? I wonder what the reason is...... Id say some of both, the one that you can pick your own they want a pretty penny for it normally though but I'm sure people do steal stuff even though they make 90% of their money off of the steel they sell from crushed cars
