1990manche
I just bought me a 1990 comanche and am trying to get 7.5 in of lift out of the rear of the Jeep. I'm planning on swaping in a ford 8.8 and doing SOA but I was wondering how much lift it actually gives you?
CoryMJ89
It gave me a 5.5 -6 the half inch can all depend on how tall ur spring perches are ect
CoryMJ89
But I started out by putting an 8.25 in and a 8.8 is a little bigger than an 8.25 bc the axle tubes are a little bigger around so prob around a 6 I'm guessing
dave92cherokee
If you're wanting ~7" of lift do a spring over and then the chevy drop shackles which bump it up another 1-2" which should net you ~7-8".
mvusse
Rear SOA usually nets you around 5.5" actual lift. But since the rear sits higher than the front in stock form, it usually works out well paired with 6.5" lift in the front. Â Be aware that to do it right, cost goes up pretty much exponentially with lift amount.
1990manche
Okay well I'm looking at doing either the iron rock offroad 8.8 swap kit soa with longer shackles or use the TNT U bolt eliminator kit that comes about with 2in lift to get the 7.5 in in rear
89eliminator
what are you doing for the front?
1990manche
I've got Rubicon express front 7.5 in coil springs with rough country long arms, track bar, disconnects, and extended brake lines and iron rock offroads over knuckle steering
86customanche
lift amount also depends on the quality of your leafs. If they are old and saggy, it won't be quite as much.
mvusse
Saggy leafs will not lift you as much over new specs, but it will lift you the same amount over where you were before the lift.
