Oh damn lol If I had realized it was just a video of that I would have never had you post it haha Ive already lifted my xj so I know what to expect.

I'm really liking the 2.5/3" lift this gives you. I DD my Xj with 4.5 and its a little much but still pretty awesome hahaha I'm think 2/3" and 31's will do me good for a DD

Ya i am on a budget (in collage) so it worked out great. If you do it and it is to much or not enough you can always change out the shackles. They say over time they sag and you have to replace them but by that time i will have a job and the truck will no longer be my DD (just the tailor queen)   .

I am planning on having the front done this week and will let you know how it goes

Then the 31s that have been sitting in my garage for over a month :fs1:

So ya in a week or two you can know exactly what it will look like, haha

Awesome dude, I also am in college so I can realate 100%. hahah I thought I could in high school but no. When you get to college its a whole new level of being broke. lol at least I can sell my Xj and make back the majority of my money. Although I love her, the Mj needs some funds :fs2:

Oh, bummer.

I'm glad you're happy with it, but it's a short AAL, and they're generally not recommended. For just a couple of dollars more you could have bought a Rancho full-length AAL. It only lifts an MJ about 1-1/2" (maybe 2" max), but it makes the entire spring pack work much better and it rides very well. It would be a perfect match for the OME front coils, or for 1-3/4" front spacers.

I understand and thanks for pointing it out for Zack, but it is just to get me down the road for now till i have a full time job (in college now) haha. Plus my leaf pack as a whole was pretty soft and on its last legs.

Thanks for keeping an eye out.

Hey Eagle, it is a little off topic but is there a how-to write up on measuring for new shocks?

I know this isn't answering your question, but these are the shocks I installed after my lift of a couple of inches in the rear.

Monroe 32370 Monro-Matic Plus Shock Absorber

I basically measured the oem shocks and then called a Monroe tech and asked them to look up a shock that was longer. I don't remember exactly how much longer it is, but the number was larger than the amount of lift I installed. I paid around $24/ea. with free shipping. Hope it helps you...

That's the one. It's gone up a bit in price since the last time I installed one, but that's it. It's considered a full-length on a Cherokee, and a "long" (but not full-length) on a Comanche. Rancho's printed catalog listed it as providing 2-1/2 inches for both the XJ and MJ. I didn't see how that was possible, so I called and talked to their engineers. They said that was a misprint, and it should be 2-1/2" for the XJ and 1-1/2" for the MJ.
