Thinking of selling my Comanche

I'm thinking of selling my 89 Comanche. It has 32000 original miles. Yep thats real. I just had brake system completely redone from the master cylinder, new lines, rubber hoses, cylinders and pads and shoes. 1 year old Kumhos and new exhaust from header back. Both front u joints replaced. No rust, but the paint was flaky so I rattle can painted it flat black. I;m just wondering if I could get $4000 for it. I've got at keast that much in it. I need a car for summer. Jeep did not come with AC. What do you think? Can Iget that much for something like this?

if the body is in good shape and it runs good i would almost give you that just to restore it. just my thoughts

Truthfully, I would not buy a vehicle from '89 with only 32000 miles on it, because that probably means it sat for a number of years, so I don't know what someone would pay for this.

mine's from 86 with 68,000 miles on it. i KNOW it sat for many years, and i brought it back. he's spent time and money getting it going from what i grasp. i'd trust it.

I bought it from the second owner. I was told it was bought as a county vehicle for one of the supervisors. He was the only one that drove it. It is a 4.0 ltr, 4x4, with a 5 speed. Anyway when he retired no one wanted to drive a stick, so he bought it and it was kept in his barn. He used it occasionally. Interior looks almost new. I did put a headliner in it. I also put a Herculiner bed liner (roll on) since the bed was still rust free, just to protect it. I think if someone took time and sanded and painted it, it would almost be like new. But I was just curious what something like this was worth. Tough to get a Blue Book price thats accurate.

Probably not going to get that much from a rattle-can truck. Being rust free is nice and probably the biggest selling point. Low mileage tends not to mean as much as it would if it was an old Corvette. My newest MJ has 40k on the front axle, 50 on the rear 44 and I think 70 on the t-case. The rest is all 210k. So having a low mileage Dana 35 isn't really a hugely desirable thing. :D But like everything else for sale, it's worth whatever the buyer and seller can agree on. Best way is to officially put it up for sale in the classifieds (here, local papers, ebay, etc.) and see what happens. If no one wants to pay 4grand, then drop it down a bit until you get some bites.
