Biotex
Having trouble figuring out what this part is. It is mounted on the inner fender beneath and outside of the radiator overflow bottle. It has an electrical connection and a vacuum hose attached. I suspect it has to do with the CAD system perhaps? The black with yellow tracer wire is disconnected. So is the black with red tracer. The two look like they should be connected together. Yes/No? 1990 MJ

Biotex
Ok, so that helped me find it in the wiring diagram in the FSM. So this would explain why the 4wd indicator lamp is inop? The CAD is currently disconnected, and it is my intent to leave it that way. If I'm reading it correctly, to make the light work again, I would need to hook back up the vacuum lines coming out of the switch on the TC, bypass the lines that would normally move the fork, and trick the solonoid into thinking the CAD is doing its job. Am I correct that the switch needs a vacuum before it will make the light? If so, then I should be able to figure a way to get a vacuum to the switch when in 4wd. All the parts are still installed, just the vacuum lines are disconnected from the various pieces.
1987Comanche
The problem isn't necessarily making the light come on, rather it's making it go out when you go back to 2WD. If you cap the vacuum line at the CAD motor and leave everything else connected the 4WD light will come on. When you go back to 2WD, however, there's nothing to bleed vacuum from the line and the switch stays on. Ask me how I know....
