Timmmmmy
Hello, I just picked up my Rough Country Cherokee front bumper for my MJ. It looks like I will have to trim the forward portion on the front fenders and plastic trim flush with the bottom of the front clip/header for it to fit. I have never trimmed metal before and want to make sure I do it properly. Should I simply cut it flat or roll the edge over? I have tried searching online and on CC for a write up doing it as well as removing the front bumper and skirt but haven't found much. If you know of a good link it would be much appreciated. Thanks, Ryan.
ratrapp
i just cut mine flat with a sawzall.i worked very slowly as not to to jerk the fenders and didn't use a cutoff wheel tool or it would've burnt the paint.
ParadiseMJ
If you cover the area with tape...to keep the paint from chipping as you trim. You can use a sawz-all or a jig saw with a fine tooth blade.
johnnyc
An air nibbler works great. Then I used some black door moulding to cover the cut edge.
Alexia
Cut with a little extra metal over hang and roll the edge for the professional look along with extra strength. That or just cut it will work!
