Dropping The Fuel Tank

I've been fighting with this thing for waaaaaaaaaaay too long. I'm trying to drop the tank because it's filled with crap and needs to be un-rusted.

 

My problem lies in the fact that the front leaf spring bolt sticks out far enough past the frame rail that the tank gets stuck on it. I jacked it up by the frame to get as much clearance between the frame and the drive shaft as possible but it keeps getting jammed. So. Is it easier to pull the bed and accessories or the rear universal joint?

 

To be honest, I'm not looking for a full frame-up resto; I just want to go fishing with it.

Drop the drive shaft.

Without question, remove the DS!

Popping the driveshaft out is going to be, say 1000 times easier than removing the bed.

 

Just be sure to tape the U-joint as soon as you pull it off so you don't lose the caps.
