89JeepMJ Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 bought a new stainless steel one. just wondering if you guys that have done it, just slapped them in or painted them or even wrapped them. So any input helps thanks
Keyav8r Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 The only reason to paint stainless steel would be cosmetic. Don't know if there is any performance to be gained by insulating it. IMHO, just slap it on and run it.
89JeepMJ Posted December 22, 2012 Author Posted December 22, 2012 wrap keeps engine bay temps down and people say it keeps the heat in results in better performance
Keyav8r Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 OK, so there are some benefits to insulating. Hadn't though about the radiated heat and cooling can be an issue on MJs. Any ballpark numbers on perfromance improvement?
89JeepMJ Posted December 22, 2012 Author Posted December 22, 2012 No just read some forums where they say they can feel i difference in hp and overall engine performance. then theres ceramic header paint, that keeps the heat in too. so no real big benifits, i just wanted some other opinions.
cruiser54 Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Slap it on. It's a 4.0, not a v-10 Ferrari. Which manifold did you get? One for a Renix or later model?
