captainkettel
I have a 1986 XLS 4X4 with the 2.8L V-6. The clutch slave cylinder is leaking and needs to be replaced. I can get to the bottom bolt, But can not reach around the cylinder to get the top one. Do I need to drop or lower the transmission? Or I'm I just missing something? Anyone have any tricks or suggestions?
MancheKid86
if you can't get the top one, put a jack under the transmission crossmember, lower the x-member once all the bolts are removed, youll have easier acess after that, try a bunch of extensions first, because the x-member bolts are usually seized to the frame
Geonovast
Wobble extension, u-joint, or shorty wrench may be your friend for this one.
86FUBAR
Ya I remember having the same problem ..... So I cut a hole in the floor and now it takes me 5 mins to change it out and I can bleed it by my self . I told myself that I was going to make a bitchin little sheet metal cover for it but that was like 12 or 13 years ago and the duck tape holds up real well ish...
