Lee21490 Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Started to notice lately, whenever i go up a steep hill & have my foot a little into the gas and hit a slight bump, It feels like the whole axle is sliding out from under me, Like its twisting sideways.. Everything seems to be tightly held together o.o What would cause this? 4.0l Dana 30 or w/e comes stock on a 86 manche idr lol
ftpiercecracker1 Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 I would bet money your clutch is slipping.
Lee21490 Posted December 7, 2012 Author Posted December 7, 2012 I would bet money your clutch is slipping. It's an automatic.
ftpiercecracker1 Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Does the truck move in any unnatural way? I am having a hard time visualizing exactly what is going on here.
HOrnbrod Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Check your leaf spring and shackle bushings. Then get a 3' cheater bar and tighten the crap out of your U-bolts.
Comanche County Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Check for cracked or broken springs too.
deziped Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Not unusual to hit a bump under power and have the rear of a light weight vehicle kick sideways, sometimes called a skid. Pikes Peak comes to mind
