offroader461
just as the subject says....i am wondering which rear end to put into my comanche....WHICH IS BETTER i have my stock dana 35 non-clip rear thats got 3.07 gears now but i have a set of 4.10 in my garage waiting to go in... i also have a 8.25 already with 4.10 29spline and locker and set up for an MJ with the correct perches welded on i don't plan on going any taller than 33" with 4.10 My MJ now has a 3.5" lift and 32" BFG A/T...i already have 4.10 and a locker for my dana 30 just need to decide on the rear.....THX
Pete M
Well, that's a easy one. The 29 spline 8.25 is way stronger than a 35. :D

Eagle
thats what i read somewhere i just couldn't remember where lol now i just got to get off my butt and do the switch....the u-joint flange on the d35 and 8 1/4 use the same u-joint right?? The u-joint is the same, but the pinion snout on the 8.25 is about 5/8" longer than the D35 so you may have to shorten your driveshaft.
Pete M
Unless you have a lift, then it's even better than before. :D
offroader461
i got a 3.5" lift on my MJ now so that would work perfectly...ill get pics up as soon as i start
offroader461
hey update...the axle the guy gave me is a total waste because its an open carrier, 3.73, and 27 spline so anyone have a 97 or newer one with 29 spline and 4.10????
