HOrnbrod
Now Pete, let's not get carried away. But Detroit is sure making this series look uber easy.
Pete M
6 runs off the "invincible CC"? gotta be excited 'bout that. :D but now even more excited we swept them away. I might even strap a broom to one of the MJs.
HOrnbrod
Well Pete, the Cards beat up the Giants 8-3 tonight to go up 3-1. No way I see the Giants coming back, and it should be all settled up tomorrow for a Tigers / Cards World Serious. Both teams are peaking at the right time and are playing well and it should be a hell of a Series.
86customanche
go tigers! So happy that the damn yankees are gone. But sorry to say Pete but if history repeats itself, the cards are going to win it all. The Braves (my team) have been eliminated by the champ in each of the past 2 seasons. So, the cards are lining up for the Cards! But if the Tigers won, Id be happy too, Verlander grew up about an hour from my house so naturally I'm a big fan
Pete M
that's the best part of the future, it doesn't have to repeat. hopefully the Tigers will have learned from last time. or should I say, hopefully the coaching staff has learned from last time. there's only a few players left from that '06 team so these new guys are free to write their own story. :D
AMCJeepMJ
In lieu of the Rangers, I fully support Detroit's march to the WS.
danbyrambler
Rubber series if St louis makes it - SF was down 2-0 to the reds - - - - Cardinals lost to the tigers in 7 back in '68 - - SL seemed in control at home with Bob Gibson pitching well (so was Lolich) when Harry Caray put the whammy on them - - - - Commenting on a play by the Cards right fielder, Harry told Jack Buck there were 3 things certain in life; Death, Taxes & Curt Flood under a fly ball - - - - a few moments later with 2 men on & 2 out, Flood ran in on a line drive, couldn't recover & over his head - 2 runs scoring - - - - would've been #10 for Roger Maris - 8 with the Yanks & 1 the year before with the Cards - - - - - Maris retired after the '68 WS & Harry got run over by a cab in downtown SL.
HOrnbrod
Looks like Detroit will have to wait a bit more to see who (whom?) they will be playing. Top of the 8th, 5-0 San Fran.
